Morning Remains

A two hour collaborative performance with Jennifer Verson, Joanne Cameron and Todd Dadaleares. A slow procession moving from the graveyard through the pine grove the performers walk on a one-hundred foot path of eggshells. This piece attempts to explore the impact of September 11 on those who experienced the event through the media. Working with familiar objects from our morning rituals like eggshells and tea cups, this piece addresses the need for physical intimacy with the tragedy in contrast to the numbing effect of the mediated broadcast. The sound mixed live by Todd Dadaleares incorporates samples of the eggshells breaking beneath our feet as we walk as well as bits from the local television broadcast on September 11.
